  1. This is a very concise over view of kinds of therapies. I wonder however if you may be somewhat biased against the depth therapies. These therapies whole rigorous also target life change. They become one of the greatest gifts that clients can offer themselves.

I’d like you to explain more about how psychodynamic therapy and psychoanalysis are therapies offered when brief therapies are not helpful to people, they are based on the therapeutic relationship and current research in neuroscience demonstrated brain’s capacity to change based on these depth therapies as types of memory and learning, mental representations and the validity of the unconscious. The time and frequency make for a different process and one much more meaningful and rich to those that undertake these treatments. Longer therapies target change and are cost effective compared to repeated hospitalizations, ongoing medical treatment when suffering brings physical illness, and life-long cycles of being in and out of brief therapy.

I notice on your blog role there isn’t anything about psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapists as well. This would be helpful to the public.

    • Susan,

I certaianly agree with you.Perhaps you’d be willing to share your views about how psychodynamic therapy and psychoanalysis are therapies offered when brief therapies are not helpful to people. I would appreciate that greatly.

  2. thanks for an array of really well-written articles.
